Full disclosure: we're Ryz Labs, and we're on this list. So yes, we're biased. Here's what we'd actually tell a friend, including when you should hire someone else.
"Software development company" covers firms with 800,000 people and firms that will add three senior engineers to your team next month. The question that decides it: are you buying a program that a vendor runs, or engineering capacity that your own leads direct?
Size is the first filter people use and usually the wrong one. A global integrator brings breadth, partnerships and the ability to run dozens of workstreams. It also brings program structure that a single product team may not need. A team-based partner brings speed and direct access to engineers, but won't run your change management.
The better filters are who directs the work, where the engineers sit relative to your team, and what the vendor publishes about price. If your engineers review code at 10 a.m. Eastern and the vendor's team is asleep, every review becomes a next-day round trip. Read in-house vs outsourcing and onshore vs nearshore before you shortlist.
We're trusted by Fortune 500 engineering teams. Our software development services come as staff augmentation (senior Latin American engineers, plus data, product and design people, who join your standups and repos), dedicated development teams, or software outsourcing where a Ryz team owns delivery of a scoped system. Only the top 1% of the tens of thousands of engineers we've interviewed make it, and real-time overlap with US teams means same-day code review.
Our rates are public: mid-level engineers (comparable to Amazon L5) at $7,000 to $10,000 a month, seniors (comparable to Amazon L6) at $10,000 to $15,000. You get a plan, a price and the names of the people before you start. When the work turns to AI, our AI pod teams build and ship production systems; see our case studies. Steps are Talk, Match, Join and Grow.
Where we're not the right fit: if you need a board-level transformation program, Accenture or Cognizant run those. If you need Europe or Asia time zones or follow-the-sun coverage, EPAM or Thoughtworks fit better. If you want a self-serve freelance marketplace, we're not that.
Accenture had about 814,000 people and $74.2B in revenue in fiscal 2026. It pairs strategy, technology and operations, and lists partnerships with most major cloud and software vendors.
Where it fits: programs that span strategy, platforms and operations. The catch: a single product team rarely needs that much structure.
Cognizant reported $21.1B in 2025 revenue and describes itself as "AI Builders," working across experience, process and technology modernization.
Where it fits: very large estates that need scale. The catch: most delivery is in India, so plan for limited overlap with US hours.
EPAM is an engineering-first firm with about 62,850 people. In 2026 it announced partnerships with Anthropic and OpenAI. See Ryz Labs vs EPAM and EPAM vs Globant.
Where it fits: scale with strong engineering depth. The catch: a large-firm engagement floor.
Founded in Buenos Aires, Globant had 28,773 employees at the end of 2025. In August 2026 it launched Glob.AI, which delivers work through AI Pods run by agents and supervised by experts.
Where it fits: big programs with Latin American delivery. The catch: decide whether you want agent-run pods or a named team. See Ryz Labs vs Globant.
Founded in 1993, Thoughtworks has 10,000+ people and delivers with its AI/works platform. See Ryz Labs vs Thoughtworks.
Where it fits: teams that want to raise their own practices. The catch: confirm which office staffs you.
BairesDev, founded in Buenos Aires in 2009, has 4,000+ specialists across 100+ technologies and offers staff augmentation, dedicated teams and outsourcing. See Ryz Labs vs BairesDev.
Where it fits: buyers who want the vendor's PMs running delivery. The catch: ask how much control stays with your leads.
Founded in 1989, ScienceSoft has 750+ IT professionals and ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and ISO/IEC 27701 certifications.
Where it fits: buyers with strict vendor-certification checklists. The catch: confirm team location and hours.
If you want senior engineers your leads direct, on US hours: Ryz Labs.
If you need a global program with strategy and operations attached: Accenture or Cognizant.
If you need engineering depth at very large scale: EPAM or Thoughtworks.
If you want vendor-managed Latin American delivery: Globant or BairesDev. Local options: New York, Chicago, or see custom software development companies.
Cost is team size times months times monthly rate. Three senior engineers at $12,000 a month for six months is $216,000. See the cost to hire a software developer.
Big firms suit programs with many workstreams. Team-based partners suit product teams that need senior people fast. Many companies use both.
If your team needs working-hour overlap for reviews and decisions, usually yes. See nearshore vs offshore.
Meet the actual engineers, review their code on a small paid task, and talk to a reference with a similar project.
We checked pricing and services for every provider here in October 2026. This changes often, so double-check before you sign anything.
