Disclosure: we're Ryz Labs, and we compete with the companies on this page. Read it with that in mind. We've flagged every case where we'd send you elsewhere.
Almost every LatAm vendor says it hires the top 1 or 2% and works your hours. So those claims won't decide it. What decides it is the model: do you want engineers embedded in your team with a partner behind them, full-time employees you hire through an EOR, or a marketplace where you pick and manage people yourself?
The marketing all sounds the same. BairesDev says it hires "fewer than 1%." Howdy says "Top 1%." Revelo says "the top 2%." We say the top 1%. You can't verify any of these numbers from outside, so don't choose on them.
What you can check is the model, because it changes who manages the engineer, who you pay, and what happens when someone leaves. In embedded staff augmentation, a partner recruits, employs, and supports the engineer, and they work inside your team. In an EOR model, you're effectively the employer and the partner runs payroll and compliance. In a marketplace, you pick from profiles and handle most things yourself.
The other things you can check: published fees, published trials, and who runs the final interview.
We place senior Latin American engineers, plus data, product, and design people, inside your team. Same standups, same repos, from week one. Our vetting: recruiters source, our in-house ARC system ranks the pipeline, candidates go through structured NTRVSTA AI interviews, and recruiters review everyone before and after. AI scores are advisory and people decide. You get a curated shortlist, and you run the final interview. We also do direct-hire placement when you'd rather hire outright.
Why we rank first: most US teams shopping for LatAm staff augmentation want the same thing. Senior people, online during US hours, who act like part of the team rather than a vendor queue. That is the whole model here. Our engineers sit within ±1h of US time zones, only the top 1% of the tens of thousands we've interviewed make it, and the final yes is always yours. When you'd rather hire someone outright, our direct-hire placement means you keep the person.
Where we're not the right fit: we're a boutique with a smaller bench and fewer public reviews than BairesDev. We don't publish prices or a trial. If either is a requirement, Howdy (published fee) or Revelo (published trial) will suit you better.
BairesDev is the largest pure LatAm staff augmentation player here. They say they hire fewer than 1% of 2.5 million+ annual applicants, and that they have 4,000+ engineers across 100+ technologies. They run staff augmentation, dedicated teams, and outsourced projects. Clutch shows 4.9/5 from 63 reviews.
The catch: pricing isn't published, and some Clutch reviewers mention rate increases and early churn. One reviewer noted a thin bench in niche skills. Full comparison: Ryz Labs vs BairesDev, and if you're already a client, BairesDev alternatives.
Howdy employs LatAm engineers through EOR and places them as dedicated team members. Its quotes are "all-inclusive," split 85% to the engineer and 15% to Howdy, covering recruiting, benefits, coaching, office access, and equipment. Vetting is led by psychologists plus live coding interviews. Howdy claims 98% retention through two years.
The catch: Howdy says a full cycle takes four to six weeks, and there are no Clutch reviews yet. See Ryz Labs vs Howdy.
Revelo claims 400K+ vetted LatAm developers, month-to-month billing with no upfront contract, and a 14-day risk-free trial. It handles EOR, payroll, and compliance in 18 countries, and the client controls the interview format.
The catch: it's a platform model, so day-to-day technical management is yours. Its acceptance claim also varies between its own pages (2% and 5%). See Ryz Labs vs Revelo.
Tecla offers staff augmentation, direct hire, or fractional engagements across 18+ LatAm countries. The fractional option is unusual and useful if you need part of someone's week.
The catch: we found less public detail on rates and overlap, so get both in writing.
Scalable Path has been in business for 16+ years. It uses human-led vetting with live technical challenges and advertises a risk-free trial period.
The catch: it's a smaller firm, and we couldn't confirm where most of its talent is based, so ask if Latin America matters to you.
Nearsure, with 600+ experts across 18 LatAm countries, was acquired by Nortal in 2025. The combined firm offers staff augmentation plus enterprise delivery.
The catch: post-acquisition integrations take time. Ask who your account team is and whether anything is changing.
For most US companies, our pick is Ryz Labs. You get senior Latin American engineers within an hour of your time zone who join your standups and repos from week one. They come from the top 1%, screened by recruiters with AI-assisted interviews and reviewed by people, and you run the final interview. You can add data, product, and design people on the same terms, and if you later need to build AI systems, our AI pod teams can take that on.
If you need dozens of engineers or several squads, BairesDev or Nortal are built for that.
If you want full-time employees and will manage them yourself, Revelo or Howdy. Our guide to direct hire vs EOR goes deeper.
If a trial is non-negotiable, Revelo and Scalable Path both advertise one.
With staff augmentation, a partner employs and supports the engineer, and they work in your team. With EOR, the engineer is effectively your hire, and the partner handles payroll, benefits, and local compliance. EOR usually means more management work for you.
They tell you a vendor is selective, but you can't verify them. Your own interview is the real filter. That's why we let clients run the final interview.
There's no single answer. Vendors on this list hire across Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and more. Time zone and the specific person matter more than the country.
Howdy publishes its fee structure (a 15% management fee), but not a rate card. None of the others here publish rates.
Everything here was checked against each company's own site and public sources in October 2026. Vendors change terms often, so confirm before you sign.
