Full disclosure: we're Ryz Labs, and we're on this list. So yes, we're biased. Here's what we'd actually tell a friend, including when you should hire someone else.
"Offshore" covers three very different bets: India for scale, Eastern Europe for engineering depth at moderate cost, and Latin America for working the same hours as your US team. The question that decides it: does the work need daily collaboration with your engineers, or can it run as a defined project with handoffs overnight? Answer that, then pick by scale and specialty.
Ten years ago offshore meant cheap hours and long specs. Today the large firms sell outcomes, AI accelerators and fixed-price programs, and the real trade-off is collaboration. A team twelve hours away works while you sleep. That's great for a well-defined migration with clear acceptance criteria and painful for a product team shipping every day, where a question at 11am waits until tomorrow.
The second shift is seniority. Rates vary by country, but the bigger cost driver is how much your own leads must specify, review and fix. A senior engineer who owns a feature end to end often costs less in total than two junior engineers who need a spec for every ticket.
Offshore web development follows the same rules. If you need a marketing site or a contained web app with a clear brief, an offshore project shop works well. If the web app is your product and changes weekly, put engineers on your hours. Our nearshore alternatives to offshore teams guide goes deeper on that choice.
We're the option for buyers who searched "offshore" and really want people who work like colleagues. Our engineers join your standups, repos and roadmap and work US business hours, including New York hours, so review and incidents happen the same day. Only the top 1% of the tens of thousands of engineers we've interviewed make it, and Fortune 500 engineering teams trust us. When the job is building an AI system, our AI pod teams, about seven senior engineers including a tech lead and an ML engineer, build in your cloud and ship to production.
Mid-level engineers (comparable to Amazon L5) run $7,000 to $10,000 a month and seniors (comparable to Amazon L6) $10,000 to $15,000. See our developer rates and case studies.
Where we're not the right fit: you want a fixed-price project with a vendor-run team, follow-the-sun coverage, or the lowest hourly rate available. India-based firms below win on those.
EPAM had about 62,850 people at the end of 2025, with its largest delivery locations in India, Ukraine, Poland, Belarus and Mexico, per its annual report. It's a strong choice for large, engineering-heavy programs where depth matters more than shared hours. Clutch lists a $100,000+ minimum project. See Ryz Labs vs EPAM.
Cognizant reports 356,700 employees and $21.1B in 2025 revenue, with about 256,900 people in India at the end of 2025. It covers experience transformation, intelligent processes and technology modernization. Pick it for multi-year programs that need a very large bench. See Cognizant alternatives.
Infosys had 328,594 employees at March 31, 2026, and FY2026 revenue of about $20.2B, with 56.1% from North America. Its annual filing says it offers a growing share of services on a fixed-price, fixed-timeframe basis. It also sells the Topaz AI suite and announced a collaboration with Anthropic in February 2026. See Infosys alternatives.
N-iX was founded in 2002, says it has 2,400+ engineers in 10 countries and 90+ enterprise clients, and is an AWS Premier Tier partner. Services span product engineering, modernization, cloud, data, embedded and QA. A good fit for engineering-led buyers comfortable with European hours.
Itransition was founded in 1998 and says it has 3,000+ engineers and 800+ clients. It offers full-cycle software and application development, QA, cloud and dedicated development centers. Strong for offshore web development projects with a clear scope.
ScienceSoft has been in IT services since 1989 and says it has 750+ IT experts. It offers staff augmentation from 0.5 to 150+ FTE, dedicated teams and full outsourcing, and holds ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certifications. Useful when you want to start small and scale.
Globant reports 27,400+ employees in 30+ countries and LTM revenue of $2.5B. It sells "AI Pods" on what it calls a first-of-its-kind subscription model. A fit for large brand and platform programs. See Ryz Labs vs Globant.
If you need a large, well-defined program and overnight handoffs are fine, Infosys, Cognizant or EPAM have the scale. If you want engineering depth in European hours, look at N-iX or Itransition. If you're testing the waters with a small offshore web project, ScienceSoft is flexible.
If your engineers ship every day and you want senior people in your standups on US hours, that's us. Compare more options in our software development outsourcing companies guide.
It depends on the work. For very large programs, Infosys, Cognizant and EPAM have the scale. For senior engineers who work your hours on your team, we'd pick Ryz Labs.
For a scoped web project, Itransition and ScienceSoft both build custom web applications. If the web app is your core product and changes weekly, put senior engineers on your hours instead.
Offshore usually wins on hourly cost and scale. Nearshore wins when work needs same-day collaboration. Our nearshore software development companies guide compares that side.
Most firms here don't publish rates. Ryz publishes ours: $7,000 to $15,000 per engineer per month, mostly mid-level to senior.
We checked pricing and services for every provider here in October 2026. This changes often, so double-check before you sign anything.
