The short answer

For most US engineering teams that want senior people building on their own roadmap, Ryz Labs is the better choice. You get top 1% senior engineers on your team on US business hours, and AI pod teams that build in your cloud and repos and ship to production. You see a plan, a price and the names of the people before you start. Fortune 500 engineering teams trust us for exactly this.

Cheesecake Labs is a product engineering and AI studio founded in 2013, with an office in San Francisco and its engineering hub in Florianópolis, Brazil. It says it has shipped 300+ products and sells fixed-scope AI implementations it says go "live in 8 to 12 weeks," plus modernization, data work and senior engineering teams. Why Ryz is the better choice for most teams

A team that stays with your system. Cheesecake Labs is at its best on a defined build: a new app, a modernization, an 8-to-12-week AI implementation, then handoff with training. That's a good shape for a launch. Production AI rarely stops at launch. Prompts drift, data changes, edge cases pile up. Our AI pod teams work in your repos, your CI and your standups, show working software in weekly demos, and keep going. When you're ready, you can grow the pod, add disciplines, or take the whole system over.

Production results across industries. Our pods have shipped fraud detection for a global fleet company (244K+ invoices scored in under 30 seconds each, $5.94M in fraud confirmed by the client's fraud team), an AI driver-support agent that covers about 218,000 calls a year in three languages, an AI voice platform with 1M+ outbound calls, and compliance review for a global capital management firm that cut review of 8,000+ documents from days to hours. See our case studies.

A vetting process you can inspect. Cheesecake Labs doesn't publish how it hires. Ours is public: recruiters source, our in-house ARC system ranks the pipeline, every candidate goes through a structured NTRVSTA AI interview, and recruiters review each one before and after. AI scores are advisory; people decide. Only the top 1% of the tens of thousands we've interviewed make it. See our vetting process.

Depth across Latin America. Cheesecake Labs' engineering hub is in Florianópolis, Brazil. We recruit senior engineers across Latin America, which widens the pool when you need a specific stack at senior level, whether that's a Python and AWS data platform or a TypeScript and React front end. All of them work US business hours, including New York hours.

Pricing

Cheesecake Labs doesn't publish rates. Clutch lists $50-$99 an hour and a $50,000+ minimum project. For an AI implementation, ask for the fixed price, what's in scope at week 12, and what support costs after handoff.

We publish ours. Typical Ryz cost is $7,000-$15,000 per engineer per month, mostly mid-level to senior. Mid-level (comparable to Amazon L5 / SDE II) is $7,000-$10,000 a month. Senior (comparable to Amazon L6) is $10,000-$15,000. Leads are $15,000+ and quoted per team. An AI pod is team size × duration × monthly rate: four senior engineers for three months is 4 × $10,000-$15,000 × 3, or $120,000-$180,000. You get a plan, a price and the names of the people before you start.

Questions

Is Cheesecake Labs staff augmentation or an agency?

Mostly a product and AI studio. It also offers senior engineers who join a client's team, as single engineers, pods or full ownership. Ryz offers staff augmentation and AI pod teams, priced per engineer.

Can Cheesecake Labs really ship AI in 8 to 12 weeks?

That's its stated window for AI implementations, and it's plausible for a well-scoped RAG or search use case. Ask what "in production" means in the contract. Our pods don't promise a date up front; the plan names the people and the milestones.
