Best staff augmentation companies for fintech and financial services

Six options for fintech and financial-services engineering leaders, compared on regulated-industry fit, Eastern-time overlap, and how embedded the engineers really are.

Full disclosure: we're Ryz Labs, and we're one of the options on this page. So yes, we're biased. Here's what we'd actually tell a friend, including when you should hire someone else.

TL;DR

For fintech and financial-services teams, the question that decides it is simple: do you want engineers who join your team and work inside your repos and controls, or do you want a vendor that takes a whole program off your hands? Embedded engineers keep knowledge and accountability in-house. A big vendor gives you scale and a single contract.

Why fintech and financial services is different

Regulated teams carry more context per engineer. Someone working on a ledger, a payments flow, or a trading system needs to understand your controls, your audit trail, and your release process. Every time an engineer rotates out, that context leaves with them. So churn costs more here than almost anywhere else.

Time zones matter more too. Incidents, market hours, and compliance reviews all run on Eastern time for most US financial firms. If your engineers are asleep when a reconciliation job fails at 10am in New York, you have a problem no rate card can fix.

Finally, who owns the work matters. Some firms want an outside vendor to own delivery and sign up for outcomes. Others want people who sit inside their own security perimeter and answer to their own engineering managers. Neither is wrong, but they are different purchases.

Financial-services teams usually need one of three things

  1. A few senior engineers who join an existing team and ship inside your repos, code review, and change management.
  2. A whole program delivered, such as a payments platform rebuild, where a vendor manages the squads.
  3. Full-time hires in Latin America without opening a local entity, with payroll and compliance handled.

1. Ryz Labs (us)

Best forFintech and financial-services teams adding senior engineers who work as part of the team
PricingCustom quote, scoped per team
Talent based inLatin America, within ±1h of US time zones

We place senior Latin American engineers (plus data, product, and design people) inside your team. They join your standups, work in your repos, and follow your roadmap from week one. Our recruiters source, our in-house ARC system ranks the pipeline, candidates go through structured NTRVSTA AI interviews, and recruiters review everyone before and after. You get a recruiter-curated shortlist, and you run the final interview. AI scores are advisory. People make the decisions. Only the top 1% make it.

Why we fit financial services: our engineers work New York hours, so code review and incident response happen the same day. Our other business, AI pod teams for financial institutions, builds production systems for financial clients, including a marketing-compliance system for a global capital management firm that took review from days to hours across 8,000+ documents. That's the kind of environment our people are used to.

Where we're not the right fit: if you need hundreds of engineers fast, or follow-the-sun coverage across Europe and Asia, a large vendor like BairesDev, Endava, or Globant has scale we don't. We're a boutique with a smaller bench and fewer public reviews than the big names. And we don't publish prices. You get a scoped plan, a price, and the names of the people who would do the work after a conversation.

2. Endava

Best forPayments companies and large financial programs that want a vendor to own delivery
PricingNot published
Talent based inLatin America and Eastern Europe (nearshore delivery)

Endava is a NYSE-listed engineering firm with a dedicated payments practice. They say "90% of largest payment companies count on us." Delivery is nearshore, from Latin America and Eastern Europe.

Why it fits: if your project is a payments platform and you want a firm that has done that work many times and will manage the teams, Endava is built for it. The catch is the model. This is outsourced delivery, not engineers who become part of your team, and Eastern Europe delivery means less overlap with New York afternoons.

3. BairesDev

Best forMid-size and enterprise firms staffing many engineers or several squads at once
PricingNot published
Talent based inMainly Latin America (Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and others)

BairesDev is the largest LatAm staff augmentation player we looked at. They say they have 4,000+ engineers across 100+ technologies, and that their engineers "work your hours." They offer staff augmentation, dedicated teams, and project outsourcing under one contract. Clutch shows 4.9/5 from 63 reviews.

Why it fits: scale. If you need to staff a multi-team program across several stacks, BairesDev can do it in a way a boutique can't. The catch: pricing isn't published, and some Clutch reviewers mention rate increases over time and developer churn early in an engagement. For a regulated team where context is expensive, ask how they handle continuity. We compare the two of us directly in Ryz Labs vs BairesDev.

4. Andela

Best forEnterprises that want a large global bench with AI-engineering training
PricingNot published
Talent based inGlobal (Africa, Latin America, Europe, India, North America)

Andela is a global talent marketplace. Its site lists Goldman Sachs, Capital One, and SoFi as clients, and Andela says it has "17,000 certified AI-native engineers." It also runs AI training programs, so it can upskill a cohort as well as staff one.

Why it fits: strong financial-services logos and global reach. The catch: overlap with US Eastern varies by region. A Brazil-based sample profile on Andela's own site shows four hours of overlap, and Africa-based talent sits several hours ahead. See Ryz Labs vs Andela for the details.

5. Globant

Best forEnterprise-scale digital transformation projects
PricingNot published
Talent based inGlobal firm with Latin American roots

Globant is a NYSE-listed (GLOB) digital engineering firm of roughly 28,800 people with Latin American roots. It takes on large transformation projects for enterprises.

Why it fits: for a multi-year transformation program, Globant has the size and public-company standing procurement teams look for. The catch: it's a big-vendor engagement, not a few senior people joining your team.

6. Revelo

Best forFull-time LatAm hires with payroll, benefits, and compliance handled
PricingNot published (quote calculator); 14-day risk-free trial
Talent based inLatin America (18 countries)

Revelo helps US companies hire Latin American engineers full-time and handles payroll, benefits, taxes, and compliance in 18 countries. They say engineers "work within 2 hours of US Eastern time" and that they have 400K+ vetted developers. They advertise a 14-day risk-free trial and month-to-month billing.

Why it fits: if you want to own the hire long term and can manage engineers yourself, Revelo is fast and flexible. The catch: it's closer to a platform model. Technical management sits with you. More in Ryz Labs vs Revelo.

Our pick

For most fintech and financial-services teams, our pick is Ryz Labs. If you need senior engineers who join your standups and repos, work within an hour of New York, and stay long enough to learn your controls, that is exactly what we do. Only the top 1% make it through recruiter sourcing, AI-assisted screening, and recruiter review, and you run the final interview, so nobody joins your team without your sign-off. We can add data, product, and design people as well. And if you later want to build AI systems in your own cloud, our AI pod teams can take that on without you changing vendors.

If you're a payments company planning a large platform program, look hard at Endava. A firm that owns delivery and has done payments many times is a better buy than staff augmentation for that job.

If you need dozens of engineers across many stacks, BairesDev or Globant will have the bench. We won't.

If you want to hire full-time in LatAm and manage people yourself, Revelo is a good fit, and its published trial lowers the risk. For more on that model, see our guide to hiring LatAm engineers directly.

What we'd do this week

  1. Write down whether you need people inside your team or a vendor that owns delivery. That one answer cuts this list in half.
  2. Ask every vendor how many hours of overlap their engineers have with New York, in writing, and who covers incidents in the afternoon.
  3. Ask each one what happens when an engineer leaves: who replaces them, how fast, and who pays for the ramp-up.
  4. Ask to run the final technical interview yourself. If a vendor won't allow it, that tells you who they think the engineer works for.

Questions

Is staff augmentation safe for regulated financial work?

It can be, as long as engineers work inside your own environment, under your access controls, code review, and change management. Ask each vendor how they handle access, offboarding, and data handling, and check that your compliance team signs off on the contract.

Should a fintech use nearshore or offshore engineers?

For most US fintechs, nearshore wins because of time zones. Latin American engineers can sit within a couple of hours of Eastern time, which means same-day reviews and incident response. Offshore can make sense for follow-the-sun support, which is where a global firm like Andela fits.

How much does fintech staff augmentation cost?

None of the six firms here publish a full rate card. Revelo uses a quote calculator, and we scope a custom quote per team. Expect pricing to depend on seniority, stack, and how many people you need.

Do any of these firms have financial-services experience?

Endava has a dedicated payments practice. Andela lists major financial clients on its site. Our AI pod teams work with financial institutions. Ask each vendor for references in your exact segment.
