We'll say this up front: we're Ryz Labs, and we compete with both Andela and HatchWorks AI on AI engineering work. We'll argue for our own model, and we'll also tell you when either of them suits you better. What we say about them comes from their sites, their announcements and Wikipedia, cited at the end.
Ask who in your company needs to get better at AI. If it's your engineers, Andela is set up for that: it runs agentic engineering assessments and curriculums, says it has trained 200,000+ technologists since 2014, and can also supply what it calls "17,000 certified AI-native engineers." If it's everyone else (operations, finance, sales, the people who will use what gets built), HatchWorks AI sells GenEQ, a change-management stage that sits next to its strategy and build work. One of its case summaries lists 180 people trained across 8 role tracks.
If what you need right now is neither a curriculum nor a change program, but senior engineers who build the AI system with your team, Ryz Labs is where we'd send you.
Here is every public price signal we found, checked October 2026. Most firms in this market don't publish a rate card, so we show the hourly band on their Clutch listing and convert it to a monthly figure for one full-time engineer.
Monthly figures are our math at 160 hours a month. Directory bands are entered by the firms themselves and are not quotes, so ask each vendor for a written monthly price for the same roles at the same seniority.
Andela started as a talent network. Founded in 2014 and fully remote since 2020, it now calls itself "The Human Layer Powering Production AI." It bought the Qualified skills-assessment platform and uses it in vetting, alongside experience checks, proctoring and an interview. Its navigation lists managed solutions to "design, build, and deploy AI systems end-to-end," plus partner offerings tied to GitHub, Anthropic and OpenAI. Its pricing page routes buyers to a discovery call rather than a rate card. A Series E in 2021 valued it at $1.5B, per Wikipedia.
HatchWorks AI rebuilt itself around AI. The Atlanta firm, founded in 2016, says it refocused entirely on AI after November 2022. Its method runs GenROI (strategy), GenDD (build, "first production release in 8 to 12 weeks") and GenEQ (adoption). Its llms.txt promises "no long-term contract required and client ownership of IP," and it says it is "SOC 2 Type I attested." You can add a Fractional Chief AI Officer.
Put simply: Andela makes engineers more capable with AI and rents them out. HatchWorks AI makes organizations ready for AI and builds for them.

Training matters. But many teams find the fastest way to build AI skill in-house is to ship a real system with senior people sitting next to their own engineers.
Learning by building, in your repos. A Ryz AI pod team of about seven senior engineers, including a tech lead and an ML engineer, joins your CI and standups and holds weekly demos. Your engineers work in the same code every day, so the knowledge stays when the pod steps back. Learn how forward-deployed engineers work with us.
An agent that runs around the clock. One Ryz pod built an AI real-estate agent that works 24/7 for the client, in the client's own environment. See the real-estate agent case study.
Hours you don't have to plan around. Global networks are useful for follow-the-sun work, but overlap varies by region. Every Ryz engineer works US business hours, on your team and reporting to your leads.
A price you can see. Mid-level engineers run $7,000 to $10,000 a month and senior engineers $10,000 to $15,000; leads are quoted per team.

Yes. Its site lists an agentic engineering assessment and curriculums, and its staffing record includes training as a service.
Change management, so staff actually use what gets built. Its Vanco Payment Solutions summary lists 180 people trained, 41 production-ready deliverables and 30 playbooks.
Andela. HatchWorks AI's engineers come as part of an engagement, not as individual hires.
Yes. When the work is done you can keep the pod, add disciplines, or hand the whole system to your team, which has been in the same repos all along. Ask us how that works.
We checked both firms' pages in October 2026. Offers in AI services move quickly, so confirm details with each vendor.
