Best AI pod team providers for enterprise engineering

Agent subscription, embedded talent or dedicated team: what each provider actually means by a pod, and which one fits your work.

Disclosure: we're Ryz Labs, and we compete with the companies on this page. Read it with that in mind. We've flagged every case where we'd send you elsewhere.

TL;DR

"Pod" has become a sales word. For some vendors it is a metered subscription of AI agents. For others it is a few contractors, or a team run by the vendor's project manager. The question that decides it: are you buying named engineers who work in your systems, or capacity measured some other way?

Why buyers comparing pods are different

Procurement wants something it can compare line by line. Engineering wants people who can ship in its systems. Pod offerings try to satisfy both, and the definitions drift as a result. Two vendors can quote "a pod" and mean completely different things.

Before you compare prices, compare what is inside the box: who the people are, who manages them, where the code lives, and what you are actually billed for (hours, tokens, outcomes or a team). Then compare prices.

Pods usually come in one of three shapes

  1. Agent subscription: AI agents do the work, people supervise, you pay for usage.
  2. Vendor-managed team: engineers plus the vendor's PM deliver a scoped build.
  3. Embedded dedicated team: named engineers join your repos and rituals and own an outcome with you.

1. Ryz Labs (us)

Best forEnterprises across industries, including financial services, that want a named, senior team building AI inside their stack
PricingCustom quote, scoped per team
Talent based inLatin America, working New York hours (±1h of US time zones)

We're trusted by Fortune 500 engineering teams, and our AI pod teams are the third shape. A typical pod is about seven senior engineers, including a tech lead, an ML engineer and backend engineers, working as one team in your time zone. The pod embeds in your repos, CI and standups, runs weekly demos, and builds on your stack (AWS, Azure, GitHub, Postgres, Anthropic and OpenAI models). As the work grows, you can add people or disciplines; when it's done, the pod can hand the whole system over. Before you sign, you get a scoped plan, a price and the names of the people who would do the work.

Our pods have production systems behind them: a fraud detection system for a global fleet company ($5.94M in confirmed fraud, 244K+ invoices scored), a marketing-compliance system for a global capital management firm (8,000+ documents, days to hours), and an AI real-estate agent that answers around the clock. See our case studies.

Where we're not the right fit: if procurement needs a published price list or a consumption-priced SKU, we can't offer that. If you need engineers in Europe or Asia time zones or follow-the-sun coverage, a global network fits better. If you want a management-consulting engagement or a proprietary AI platform, look at the big consultancies and platform vendors. And we have fewer analyst ratings than the big names.

2. Globant

Best forLarge enterprises that want a productized, consumption-priced AI offering from a public vendor
PricingNot published (monthly minimum usage fee covering tokens up to a threshold, plus a variable fee)
Talent based inGlobal, with a large Latin American base

Globant launched "AI Pods" in June 2025: a monthly subscription with token-metered capacity, with agents orchestrated on its GEAI platform and supervised by Globant experts. Since August 2026 they are sold through Glob.AI in three models: Software, Operations and Catalyst.

Where it beats us: a catalog procurement can buy from, platform partnerships including Anthropic, AWS, OpenAI and Google Cloud, and a global, consumption-priced pod platform. The catch: you are buying agent output, not a named team, and AI Pods were $20.6M ARR against about $2.45B in revenue in FY2025. See Ryz Labs vs Globant.

3. Turing

Best forEnterprises that want AI talent and domain specialists drawn from a very large network
PricingNot published
Talent based inGlobal remote network; a verified FDE posting is in Hyderabad, India

"Turing pods" combine AI talent with domain specialists embedded in client workflows, under its Advise, Augment and Build offerings. Its core business supplies data and evaluations to frontier AI labs.

Where it beats us: model-level depth, for teams that need evaluation and post-training work. The catch: enterprise build is its newer line, and continuity depends on who is staffed.

4. BairesDev

Best forCompanies that want a vendor-managed team to handle a full build
PricingNot published (Clutch lists a $50,000+ minimum project and $50-$99/hr)
Talent based inLatin America

BairesDev describes its Dedicated Teams as "focused pods handling full builds with BairesDev tech PMs driving delivery." It also offers staff augmentation and outsourced projects, and says it has 4,000+ Latin American engineers.

Where it beats us: a vendor-managed model with its own PMs and a strong Clutch record (4.9/5 across 63 reviews). The catch: it is a generalist vendor; AI is one of many technologies rather than a dedicated practice.

5. EPAM Systems

Best forLarge organizations redesigning their own engineering teams around AI
PricingNot published (Clutch lists a $100,000+ minimum project)
Talent based inGlobal; largest centers in India, Ukraine, Poland, Belarus and Mexico

EPAM's AI/Run.Transform, launched in October 2025, is consulting built around blueprints for AI-native teams, alongside its open-source DIAL platform and managed delivery teams.

Where it beats us: if you want help redesigning your whole engineering organization, not one pod. The catch: a large-firm engagement floor.

6. Tribe AI

Best forSmall, high-value use cases that need senior specialists
PricingNot published
Talent based inContractor network; offices in New York, San Francisco and Lisbon

Tribe AI staffs small forward-deployed squads from a network of senior AI practitioners (500+ as of 2024, per TechCrunch) and adds strategy and adoption phases.

Where it beats us: strategy and adoption coverage. The catch: contracted talent can affect continuity on long work.

Our pick

If you want a pod that is a real team in your systems: Ryz Labs. Named senior engineers, New York hours, your cloud and repos, weekly demos, and a system you own at the end. Our pods have shipped production work like the $5.94M fraud detection system and the 8,000+ document compliance system described above.

If procurement needs a metered SKU: Globant.

If you need a vendor PM to run a full build for you: BairesDev.

If you are redesigning your whole engineering org: EPAM.

What we'd do this week

  1. Write one sentence defining "pod" for your purchase: people, agents, or both.
  2. Ask each vendor what exactly you are billed for and what happens to unused capacity.
  3. Ask for the names of the people in the pod and who manages them day to day.
  4. Confirm the code and models will live in your repos and cloud.

Questions

What is an AI pod?

There is no standard definition. It can be a metered agent subscription, a vendor-managed team, or a dedicated team embedded with you. Ask which.

How big is a typical pod?

It varies by vendor. Our typical pod is about seven senior engineers. Agent-based pods are sized by usage rather than headcount.

Is a pod the same as forward-deployed engineering?

An embedded pod is one form of it. See forward-deployed engineering partners.

How should we compare pod pricing?

Normalize to what you get: named people and hours, or tokens and outcomes. Few vendors publish prices, so ask for written quotes. Our guide to dedicated AI teams vs staff augmentation covers the team-versus-individuals side.
