Heads up: we're Ryz Labs, and we're the first option on this page. We'd rather be useful than coy about that, so we also say when Azumo is the better call. Facts about Azumo and the other firms come from their own sites and public listings, linked at the end.
Azumo is a San Francisco-headquartered nearshore software company that has built AI software since 2016, with engineers in Latin America on US-aligned hours. It sells dedicated teams, staff augmentation and full project builds, and it prices project work at $499 to $899 per "Delivery Unit" (a testable piece of working software). It also runs AI software of its own, including an AI receptionist and Valkyrie, an open-weight model platform. Buyers look elsewhere for structural reasons: they want to pay for people rather than units of scope, want engineers in their own repos under their own leads, or would rather their build partner not sell a platform. For that, our pick is Ryz Labs. If you want a fixed scope priced per feature, Azumo is a sensible place to stay.
Fortune 500 engineering teams trust us for two things. The first is senior engineers: only the top 1% of the tens of thousands of engineers we've interviewed make it, and they join your standups, repos and roadmap on US business hours, including New York hours. The second is AI pod teams: dedicated pods of senior engineers that build AI systems in your cloud and ship them to production. A typical pod is about seven people, including a tech lead, an ML engineer and backend engineers, working in your AWS or Azure account, your GitHub and your CI, with a weekly demo. Our engineers are in Latin America, so code review happens the same day.
The main difference from Azumo is where the work lives. Azumo's project model hands a scope to Azumo and prices it per unit. Ours puts the pod on your team, so the code, the design decisions and the context stay with your people from the first commit. We don't sell an AI platform, so the pod picks what fits your stack, from Postgres to Anthropic and OpenAI models. Pods have shipped fraud detection for a global fleet company that has scored 244K+ invoices in under 30 seconds each, with $5.94M in fraud confirmed by the client's fraud team. See our case studies and vetting process.
We price per engineer, not per unit of scope. Mid-level engineers (comparable to Amazon L5) are $7,000 to $10,000 a month, seniors (comparable to Amazon L6) are $10,000 to $15,000, and leads are quoted per team. A five-person senior pod for four months is 5 × $10,000 to $15,000 × 4, or $200,000 to $300,000. You get a scoped plan, a price and the names of the people before you start. For the head-to-head, see Ryz Labs vs Azumo.
Where we're not the right fit: you want a vendor to own a fixed scope at a price per feature, you need a partner that holds SOC 2 certification itself (our engineers have experience working within SOC 2 standards, but we don't claim the certification), or you want a hosted model platform.
Wizeline has operated since 2014 and says it has about 2,000 employees in 11 countries, with offices in Mexico, Colombia, the US, Canada, Spain, the UK and Vietnam. It sells Agentic Pods and Forward Deployed Engineers and claims an AWS AI Services Competency. Delivery can come from Vietnam and Europe as well as Latin America, so ask which team will work your hours. See our Wizeline alternatives.
FullStack (still FullStack Labs on its About page) is led from the US with delivery leadership in Colombia. It says it deploys pre-built engineering pods and forward deployed engineers from a network of 1,100+ nearshore engineers, within three hours of every US time zone, and can onboard a team in as little as 48 hours. Every team member comes with a two-week trial, and its Connect platform shows recorded assessments and rates. See Ryz Labs vs FullStack Labs.
BairesDev was founded in Buenos Aires in 2009 and says it has 4,000+ engineers across 100+ technologies, mostly in Latin America. It sells staff augmentation, dedicated teams led by its own technical PMs and full software outsourcing, plus AI development, and says teams are ready in 2-4 weeks. It suits buyers who want the vendor to own delivery. See our BairesDev alternatives.
Tribe AI is an AI services firm with offices in New York, San Francisco and Lisbon. It works in three phases, Map, Build and Activate, using forward-deployed engineers to ship production systems, and says it is SOC 2 Type II certified. It fits buyers who want a strategy partner as much as a build team. See our Tribe AI alternatives.

Ryz Labs, if you want a dedicated pod of senior engineers that builds in your cloud and repos, alongside your team, and ships to production. You see the plan, price and engineers' names first.
Ask Azumo how many Delivery Units your scope needs and multiply by its $499 to $899 rate. Then compare that with team size × months × our monthly rate for the same scope.
Ryz Labs, FullStack Labs and BairesDev work mainly from Latin America, and Wizeline has offices in Mexico and Colombia. See our page on hiring LatAm developers.
