We'll say this up front: Ryz Labs wrote this page, and we're one of the companies on it. When another option is the better call, we say so plainly.
Choose Ryz Labs if you're a US company that wants senior Latin American engineers working inside your team, in your standups and repos, within about an hour of US time zones. We're trusted by Fortune 500 engineering teams, only the top 1% make it through our vetting, and we also run AI pod teams that build AI systems inside your stack. Choose Terminal if you want engineers as your own full-time employees through an employer of record (EOR), or you also want to hire in Canada or Europe.
Full-time employment, handled for you. Terminal acts as the employer of record for full-time hires. Its FAQ says it covers payroll, benefits, HR onboarding, IT support, home-office stipends, compliance and legal in each market. If you want engineers to be employees with benefits, without opening a foreign entity, Terminal does that and we don't. We're not an EOR. Our engineers work with us as independent contractors.
Canada and Europe in one place. Terminal hires in Canada (with hubs in Vancouver, Toronto and Kitchener-Waterloo) and in Poland, Spain, Romania and Hungary, as well as Latin America. If you need someone on European hours, or a Canadian hire, Terminal covers ground we don't. Our engineers are in Latin America.
Written trial and replacement terms. Terminal publishes a 14-day risk-free guarantee on contract engagements ("you won't incur any costs" if you end within 14 days) and says it waives recruitment fees for a replacement within the first 3 months of a full-time hire. That's clear, and it's more than we publish.
More process detail in public. Terminal's FAQ gives time-to-hire ranges by role type and labels every candidate's AI fluency. If you like to see how a hiring partner works before you call, that helps.
US hours, every time. All of our engineers are in Latin America and work within about one hour of US time zones. Standups, pairing and code review happen the same day. With Terminal, overlap depends on which of its nine markets you hire from. Four of them are in Europe.
Speed to a senior engineer in your standup. Terminal's own FAQ says full-time placements take about 45 days, and contract roles are "typically filled in under 30 days". We run the sourcing and vetting, and our engineers join your repos, standups and roadmap from week one, so you're not running a long hiring pipeline yourself.
Top 1% vetting you can see. Recruiters source candidates, our in-house ARC system ranks the pipeline, and every candidate goes through a structured NTRVSTA AI interview. Recruiters review each candidate before and after, AI scores are advisory, and people make every decision. Only the top 1% make it, out of tens of thousands of engineers interviewed. You get a recruiter-curated shortlist and run the final interview yourself. Our vetting page walks through it.
AI pod teams that ship to production. Our second business is dedicated pods of senior engineers (often about 7 people, including a tech lead, an ML engineer and backend engineers) that build AI systems inside your cloud, repos and CI, with weekly demos. Our case studies include fraud detection for a global fleet company that scored 244K+ invoices in under 30 seconds each, with $5.94M in fraud confirmed by the client's own fraud team. Terminal places engineers. It doesn't run AI build teams.
Terminal doesn't publish a rate card. Its FAQ says full-time placements include "a placement fee plus a monthly recurring fee covering employment, payroll, benefits, and HR." Its nearshore page cites contractor rates of $9,789 to $11,631 per month, before each country's employment costs of 9% to 40%. Terminal says customers save up to 40% compared with US developer pay. Clutch shows no rate band for Terminal.
Our pricing is a custom quote, scoped per team. You sign one contract with Ryz. Our engineers work with us as independent contractors, and we handle paying them. After a first conversation you get a scoped plan, a price, and the names of the people who would do the work. If you want to see numbers before you talk to anyone, Terminal publishes more than we do.

For full-time hires, yes. Terminal says it handles payroll, benefits, HR and compliance in each market. Ryz Labs is not an EOR. If you need engineers as employees with benefits, Terminal or another EOR-based provider is the better fit.
Yes. Its FAQ lists Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica and Mexico, alongside Canada and four European countries. All of our engineers are in Latin America.
Terminal says it can deliver candidates within 48 hours of kickoff, while its FAQ says full-time placements take about 45 days. Ask both of us for a realistic start date for your exact role and seniority.
Yes. Our AI pod teams build inside your cloud and repos and can hand the whole system to your team when it's done. If that's what you need, talk to us.
