Disclosure: we're Ryz Labs, a competitor to both companies below, so read this knowing where we stand. We've tried to give each one its due. Every fact about Gorilla Logic and BairesDev links back to a public source at the end.
Look at the budget first. On Clutch, Gorilla Logic lists a $250,000+ minimum project and says its most common project size is $1,000,000 to $9,999,999. BairesDev lists $50,000+. Both show the same $50-$99/hr band. So if you're planning a seven-figure, multi-year program and want one nearshore vendor to own product, platform and QA, Gorilla Logic is built for that scale of commitment. If you want a few engineers, or many stacks covered at once, BairesDev's lower entry point and 100+ technologies fit better.
If you'd rather keep ownership in-house and just add senior capacity that ships quickly, we think Ryz Labs is the stronger option, and we'll explain why.
Here is every public price signal we found, checked October 2026. Most firms in this market don't publish a rate card, so we show the hourly band on their Clutch listing and convert it to a monthly figure for one full-time engineer.
Monthly figures are our math at 160 hours a month. Directory bands are entered by the firms themselves and are not quotes, so ask each vendor for a written monthly price for the same roles at the same seniority.
Gorilla Logic is the more concentrated of the two. It runs its own centers in a handful of cities, and it leans into engineering disciplines that big programs need: platform engineering, DevOps and SRE, and a quality engineering practice. Its newer pitch is Construct, "delivery-tested workflows and modular AI agents" that it says can "cut engineering effort by 30 to 80 percent." Its vetting includes a technical evaluation, live problem solving and "a real look at how they collaborate under pressure." The 8.5-year average client tenure tells you how it likes to work: long relationships, large scopes.
BairesDev is built for breadth. It says it has 4,000+ engineers and that 2.5M+ people apply each year. You can take individual engineers, a dedicated team led by a BairesDev tech PM, or hand over a full project. It added an AI transformation line in 2026. Its lower minimum makes it easier to start with a single hire and grow.
Both are nearshore and both claim real-time overlap with US teams. Gorilla Logic notes that Colombia has no daylight saving time, which shifts overlap through the year.
A big minimum or a vendor-run team only makes sense if you want the vendor to own the outcome. Many engineering leaders don't.
Faster than either published ramp. We can usually start in under two weeks once you say go, and most of our engineers ship code in their first week. Before that, you get the names of the people and meet them.
No platform in the middle. Construct is Gorilla Logic's own tooling. We bring one accountable team with no proprietary platform lock-in, building in your AWS or Azure, GitHub and Postgres. When the work is done, you can keep the people or take the whole system over.
AI pods with shipped results. A Ryz AI pod team built an AI voice platform that has made 1M+ outbound calls. Pods are about seven senior engineers, including a tech lead and an ML engineer, working in your CI with weekly demos. See AI pod teams.
Vetting you can read. Recruiters source, our ARC system ranks, structured NTRVSTA AI interviews test, and people make the final call; AI scores are advisory. The full process is on our vetting page.

Gorilla Logic aims at large programs; its Clutch profile says the most common project is $1M to $9.99M. BairesDev also sells single engineers, so its entry point is lower.
Its library of "delivery-tested workflows and modular AI agents" used in its own delivery. The 30 to 80 percent effort claim is Gorilla Logic's.
Both work from Latin America with live overlap. Gorilla Logic says Costa Rica lines up with US Mountain time, then Central, as US clocks change. Ryz engineers keep US business hours, including New York hours.

Checked in October 2026. Minimums and ramp times move, so get them in writing.
