Full disclosure: we're Ryz Labs, and we're on this list. So yes, we're biased. Here's what we'd actually tell a friend, including when you should hire someone else.
Every nearshore company on this page has engineers in Latin America, so "close to US time" won't separate them. The question that decides it: do you want senior engineers who work on your team and your roadmap, or a firm that takes a whole program off your hands and runs it with its own managers? Answer that first, then compare on scale and industry depth.
Nearshore is a location, not a model. Two firms can both hire in Colombia and still sell you completely different things. One adds three senior engineers to your existing squad. The other sends a project manager, a delivery lead and fifteen people working from a statement of work. Decide which one you want before you compare rates.
The time-zone math is real, but it's table stakes. Mexico, Colombia and Peru line up with US Central or Eastern time. Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay run an hour or two ahead of New York. Any firm here can give you a working day that overlaps yours. The differences show up in what happens at 4pm when a deploy fails: is the engineer in your Slack channel with commit access, or filing a ticket with a delivery manager?
The third thing to check is how the firm has changed lately. This market has consolidated fast. Nearsure is now Nortal, Encora is now part of Coforge, and Wizeline moved its domain to wizeline.ai. None of that is bad, but ask who your account team will be a year from now. Our nearshore vs offshore guide covers the location trade-offs in more depth.
We provide senior Latin American engineers, plus data, product and design people, who work on your team: same standups, same repos, same roadmap from week one. Only the top 1% of the tens of thousands of engineers we've interviewed make it, and we're trusted by Fortune 500 engineering teams. When the work is building AI systems, our AI pod teams (a typical pod is about seven senior engineers, including a tech lead, an ML engineer and backend engineers) build in your cloud and repos and ship to production. The process is Talk, Match, Join, Grow.
Why we're first for this buyer: most US teams shopping for nearshore development want people on New York or Chicago hours who do same-day code review and act like colleagues, not a vendor queue. That's our whole model. See our nearshore software development page and case studies.
Where we're not the right fit: if you want a self-serve marketplace or an hourly freelancer, use a platform like Toptal. If you need engineers in Europe or Asia time zones, or follow-the-sun coverage, Globant or Coforge fit better. And if you want a board-level transformation program run by a large consultancy, that isn't us.
BairesDev calls itself "The Leading Nearshore Dev. Company." It was founded in Buenos Aires in 2009 and says it has "4,000+ timezone-aligned, AI-augmented software engineers." It sells staff augmentation, dedicated teams and software outsourcing, and says teams are ready in two to four weeks.
Why it fits: if you need to staff several squads across different stacks at once, BairesDev has the bench for it. The catch: no rate card or trial terms are published, so you'll need a call to get numbers. Our head-to-head is Ryz Labs vs BairesDev.
Globant was founded in 2003 and reports 27,400+ employees across 30+ countries as of March 2026. It now positions itself as "a full-stack AI company" and sells "AI Pods" on a subscription model, including a MuleSoft AI Pod launched with Salesforce in September 2026.
Why it fits: for a global enterprise that wants one partner across design, engineering and AI, with delivery in many regions. The catch: it's built for big programs, so a team that needs three engineers may not get the same attention. See Ryz Labs vs Globant.
Softtek was founded in Monterrey in 1982 and calls itself the "Pioneer of nearshore," having started its Near Shore services for US clients in 1997. It claims 16,000 experts and lists AWS, Azure, SAP, Salesforce and ServiceNow among its platform partners.
Why it fits: long history and depth in enterprise platforms and digital operations, not just new builds. The catch: if you only need a few product engineers, its strengths are in larger enterprise engagements. See Ryz Labs vs Softtek.
Wizeline has operated since 2014 and claims 2,000 employees in 11 countries and 100+ clients. Its site (now wizeline.ai) says it helps clients "modernize infrastructure, engineer data solutions, and integrate AI," and it claims an AWS AI Services Competency.
Why it fits: physical offices in Guadalajara, Querétaro, Mexico City, Bogotá and Medellín, if in-person collaboration matters to you. The catch: some delivery also runs from Vietnam, so confirm where your team will sit. See Ryz Labs vs Wizeline.
Nortal bought Nearsure, which had 650+ professionals across 18 Latin American countries, in 2025 and rebranded it as Nortal in December 2025. Its US site offers staff augmentation with "time zone alignment, and cultural fit" from "10 talent hubs across Latin America."
Why it fits: the old Nearsure staff augmentation model plus a bigger parent with data, AI and IT outsourcing practices. The catch: the brand is new in the US, so ask what changed for existing clients. See Ryz Labs vs Nearsure.
Coforge closed its acquisition of Encora in April 2026, and encora.com now redirects to coforge.com. Coforge says the deal added "scaled near-shore delivery capability in LATAM" with "3100+" engineering and AI specialists, and partnerships with AWS, Microsoft, Google and Snowflake.
Why it fits: one vendor for both a LatAm team on your hours and lower-cost offshore capacity. The catch: you're now buying from a large India-headquartered firm, so make sure the nearshore team is what's actually in the proposal. Our older page is Ryz Labs vs Encora.
If you're a US company adding senior engineers to an existing team, we'd pick Ryz Labs. You get people from the top 1% on your business hours, working in your repos, and a published price range so you can budget before the first call.
If you need 30 or more engineers across many stacks quickly, BairesDev has the bench for it.
If you're a global enterprise running a multi-year program, Globant or Coforge, depending on whether you also want offshore capacity.
If your work centers on SAP, Salesforce or ServiceNow, Softtek. Our LatAm staff augmentation companies list covers talent platforms like Revelo and Howdy too.
A firm whose engineers work from a country in or near your time zone. For US buyers, that usually means Mexico, Central America or South America. The firms on this page range from staff augmentation to full outsourcing.
Most firms don't publish rates. Ours are $7,000 to $15,000 per engineer per month, mostly mid-level to senior. A project's cost is team size times duration times the monthly rate: four senior engineers at $12,000 for six months is $288,000. See LatAm developer salaries for market context.
There isn't one answer. Mexico and Colombia match US Central and Eastern time; Argentina and Brazil sit an hour or two ahead of New York. The specific people matter more than the country.
For work that needs daily collaboration, usually yes, because you get same-day code review. For well-specified work that can run overnight, offshore can cost less. Our nearshore vs offshore guide walks through it.
We checked pricing and services for every provider here in October 2026. This changes often, so double-check before you sign anything.
