Disclosure: we're Ryz Labs, and we compete with Wizeline and BairesDev for the same engineering budgets. This page makes our case, but it also says plainly when one of them is the better call. Facts about both firms come from their own sites, press releases and Clutch, linked under Sources.
Ask which direction your team should move over the next year. Wizeline's Agentic Pods are built to get leaner: its own example swaps a ten-person pod for "6 FTEs + agents" and shows the monthly cost falling by month 12. BairesDev is built to get bigger: it says it has 4,000+ engineers across 100+ technologies, so adding a second or fifth squad is the easy part. If you want a vendor-run unit that trades headcount for agents, look at Wizeline. If you expect to keep hiring across many stacks, BairesDev has the bench.
If what you actually want is senior engineers who join your team, ship from your repos and grow or shrink on your call, we'd point you to Ryz Labs.
Here is every public price signal we found, checked October 2026. Most firms in this market don't publish a rate card, so we show the hourly band on their Clutch listing and convert it to a monthly figure for one full-time engineer.
Monthly figures are our math at 160 hours a month. Directory bands are entered by the firms themselves and are not quotes, so ask each vendor for a written monthly price for the same roles at the same seniority.
Wizeline is betting on fewer people per outcome. Founded in 2014 by Bismarck Lepe, now its Executive Chairman, it says it has about 2,000 employees and sells five ways to work, from long-running Studio teams to staff augmentation. Its newest pitch is the Agentic Pod, "cross-functional Agile PODs, augmented by AI Agents." The illustration on that page compares a traditional pod at $120,000 a month with an agentic pod at $86,400 by month 12, and moves the pricing model from "Billable hours" to "Outcome-based." That's an example, not a rate card. Wizeline also wraps its work in the AIR+ framework, which bundles WIZEBrain, WIZECores and WIZEAcademy, its training arm.
BairesDev is betting on reach. It was founded in Buenos Aires in 2009, began US operations in San Francisco in 2012, and now says it is "headquartered in California." It says 2.5M+ people apply each year and it hires fewer than 1%, and that its vetting now checks for "proficiency with AI coding tools." Staff augmentation engineers "report directly to your managers"; dedicated teams come with a BairesDev PM and Scrum Master. In August 2026 it named Darren Shimkus CEO, with co-founder Nacho De Marco moving to Chairman, and said it wants to be "the industry's leading AI-first services company."
Footprint is the other real gap. BairesDev is a Latin American bench. Wizeline's delivery map also includes Europe and Vietnam, so ask which location your team would come from.

Most engineering leaders we talk to don't want a team that the vendor shrinks or grows to its own model. They want the right senior people, now, and control over what happens next.
You set the headcount. Ryz engineers work on your team, reporting to your leads. Start with one senior engineer, add a pod of about seven with a tech lead and an ML engineer, or step down when a project ends. No pod formula to fit into. See how staff augmentation works with us.
A price that doesn't need a workshop. Mid-level engineers (comparable to Amazon L5) run $7,000 to $10,000 a month and senior engineers (comparable to L6) $10,000 to $15,000. A five-person senior pod is about $50,000 to $75,000 a month. You can budget that before anyone calls you.
AI systems that run at volume. One Ryz AI pod team built an AI voice platform that has placed more than a million outbound calls. The pod worked in the client's cloud and CI, with weekly demos. Read the voice platform case study.
Senior, and quick to ship. Only the top 1% of the tens of thousands of engineers we've interviewed get through. Most ship code in their first week, and the code and IP are always yours.

It can. Wizeline lists locations in the Americas, the UK, Spain, Romania and Vietnam. If New York overlap matters, ask which city your team would sit in before you sign.
Darren Shimkus became CEO in August 2026, and co-founder Nacho De Marco became Chairman, per BairesDev's own press release.
That's Wizeline's pitch: its example moves from ten FTEs to six plus agents over twelve months. Ask how quality checks work as people come off the pod.
Yes. If an engineer isn't the right fit, we replace them free. Tell us the roles you need.
We checked both firms' offers and public numbers in October 2026. Pod models and leadership change quickly, so confirm with each vendor before you sign.
