Quick note before we start: Ryz Labs wrote this page, and we're one of the options on it. We believe we're the stronger pick for most US engineering teams, and we say where the others fit better. Facts about Andela and BairesDev come from their own sites and public sources, listed below.
The real difference is geography and model. Andela is a global talent marketplace, founded in 2014, with a network across 135+ countries; it now calls itself "the human layer powering production AI" and sells individual engineers, blended teams, AI system work and upskilling. BairesDev is a nearshore software company, founded in Buenos Aires in 2009, that staffs mostly Latin American engineers through staff augmentation, dedicated teams run by its own PMs, and outsourced projects.
If you need talent spread across Africa, Europe and Asia, Andela fits. If you want a Latin American vendor to run a whole project, BairesDev fits. For most US teams that want top 1% senior engineers working on their own team on US business hours, or an AI pod team that builds in their cloud and ships to production, the better choice is Ryz Labs. Before you sign you see a scoped plan, a price and the names of the people.
Andela was founded in May 2014 and has been fully remote since 2020. It says it has 17,000 certified AI-native engineers, has trained 200,000+ technologists and has served 650+ clients. Its talent network spans 135+ countries, and its site names Kenya, Brazil, India, Europe and North America. It sells individual engineers deployed "into production systems," blended teams, AI data and model services, and AI upskilling for a client's own staff. It acquired the Qualified assessment platform and uses it in vetting. Time-zone overlap varies by region. It doesn't publish a rate card; its pricing page routes buyers to a discovery call.
BairesDev started in Buenos Aires in 2009 and opened US operations in San Francisco in 2012. Its engineers come from 20+ Latin American countries, mainly Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico, and it says they work US hours. It sells staff augmentation, dedicated teams with BairesDev tech PMs "driving delivery," and full software outsourcing, with AI development as one of its technology services. It says teams are ready in 2-4 weeks. It publishes no rates or trial terms; Clutch lists $50-$99/hr and a $50,000+ minimum project.
Every engineer on New York hours. Andela's global spread is a strength for follow-the-sun work, but overlap with US Eastern depends on the region of the person you get. Every Ryz engineer works on US business hours, so standups, pairing and code review all happen the same day.
Senior engineers who join your team. Our senior Latin American engineers work in your standups, repos and roadmap from week one, reporting to your leads. The architecture decisions and the knowledge stay with your team, not with a vendor's PM layer.
Top 1%, with people making the call. We've interviewed tens of thousands of engineers, and only the top 1% make it. Recruiters source, our in-house ARC system ranks the pipeline, structured NTRVSTA AI interviews test each candidate, and recruiters review before and after. AI scores are advisory; people decide. See our vetting process.
AI pod teams that ship to production. When you need AI built, a dedicated AI pod of about 7 senior engineers, including a tech lead, an ML engineer and backend engineers, works in your cloud, repos and CI with weekly demos. Our pods built marketing compliance review for a global capital management firm (8,000+ documents a year, review time from days to hours), an AI real-estate agent that runs 24/7, and an AI voice platform with 1M+ outbound calls. See our case studies.
Prices you can see. Mid-level engineers are $7,000 to $10,000 a month, seniors $10,000 to $15,000, leads $15,000+ quoted per team. A four-person mixed team (two mid-level, two senior) runs roughly $34,000 to $50,000 a month. Try your own numbers in our AI development cost calculator.

Neither publishes a rate card. Andela's homepage shows an illustrative $6,500 to $8,500 per month for one sample profile; Clutch lists BairesDev at $50-$99/hr. Get written quotes for the same roles. See Andela pricing and BairesDev pricing.
BairesDev's network is mostly Latin American; Andela's is global, with Latin America as one region. If Latin American engineers on US hours is the goal, compare BairesDev with Ryz, and see hire LatAm developers.
Andela invests heavily in AI certification and upskilling; BairesDev offers AI as one technology service. If you want a senior team to build an AI system in your stack and ship it, Ryz Labs.
