Software development company: senior engineering teams on US hours
Senior engineering teams that design, build and run production software in your repos and cloud, from a first release to a platform with years of history.
By the Ryz Labs team · Updated October 2026
Ryz Labs is a software development company that gives you senior engineering teams to build and run your software: web apps, mobile apps, APIs, data platforms and cloud infrastructure. Our engineers are in the top 1% of the tens of thousands we interview, they work on US business hours, and they ship in your repos with your team. You can hand a team a scoped system to own, or add senior engineers to the team you already have.
What we build
Most software development companies list every technology they have touched. Here is the work our teams actually do week to week, and what each one leaves you with.
- Customer-facing web applications: React, Next.js or Angular front ends on typed APIs, with authentication, role-based access, accessibility and performance budgets in CI.
- Mobile apps: native Swift and Kotlin apps or shared-code React Native and Flutter apps, with release pipelines through TestFlight and the Play Console.
- APIs and back-end services: REST and GraphQL services in Node.js, Python, Java, Go or .NET, with versioning, rate limits and contract tests so other teams can rely on them.
- SaaS platforms: multi-tenant architectures, subscriptions through Stripe, admin consoles, audit trails and the SSO and SCIM features enterprise buyers ask for.
- Data pipelines and analytics: ingestion with Airflow or dbt into Snowflake, Databricks or Postgres, with tested transformations and dashboards people trust.
- Cloud infrastructure and DevOps: AWS or Azure environments defined in Terraform, container platforms on ECS or Kubernetes, and CI/CD that deploys several times a day.
- Legacy modernization: breaking a monolith into services one seam at a time, upgrading frameworks, and moving off end-of-life runtimes without a big-bang rewrite.
- AI features in existing software: when you need LLM features, retrieval or agents, our AI pod teams build them in the same codebase. See AI development services.
Engineering services we offer

How an engagement works
- Talk. A scoping call with your engineering lead: what you are building, what already exists, your stack, your constraints and how you measure done.
- Match. We propose a team scoped to that work, with names, seniority and a monthly price. You meet the people before anything starts.
- Join. The team gets access to your repos, CI, cloud accounts and ticketing, joins your standups and starts demoing working software weekly.
- Grow. Add engineers or disciplines as the roadmap grows, scale down after a launch, or have the team hand the system over to your people with documentation and a runbook.
Week 1 is access, environment setup and reading the code: the team runs the app locally, traces a request end to end, and writes down what is risky. Often the first pull requests are small fixes that prove the pipeline works. Month 1 usually ends with a first feature in production and an agreed technical plan. By month 3, the team owns a part of the roadmap, carries its share of on-call and code review, and you see a steady release cadence. How fast each step goes depends on scope and your onboarding.
The stack our teams work in
| Layer | Tools we use | Notes |
|---|
| Front end | React, Next.js, Angular, Vue, TypeScript | We follow your existing framework rather than introduce a new one |
| Mobile | Swift, SwiftUI, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, React Native, Flutter | Native or cross-platform, chosen per product |
| Back end | Node.js, Python (Django, FastAPI), Java (Spring Boot), Go, .NET | REST, GraphQL and event-driven services |
| Data | Postgres, MySQL, Redis, Kafka, Snowflake, Databricks, dbt | Schema migrations reviewed like code |
| Cloud and infra | AWS, Azure, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes | Infrastructure as code in your accounts |
| CI/CD | GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps | Every merge builds, tests and can deploy |
| Observability | Datadog, Grafana, Sentry, OpenTelemetry | Alerts tied to user-facing symptoms |
How we keep software projects on track
Software projects rarely fail because engineers cannot write code. They fail in predictable ways, and a senior team spends much of its effort heading those off.
- Scope that drifts silently. We write a short technical plan with explicit non-goals, demo every week and flag trade-offs while they are still cheap to change.
- Integration surprises. The riskiest integration (payments, SSO, a legacy system with no docs) gets built first as a thin end-to-end slice, not in the last sprint.
- Fear of deploying. Trunk-based development, feature flags, automated tests on every pull request and small releases make deploys routine instead of events.
- Quiet regressions. Unit, integration and end-to-end tests with Playwright or Cypress, plus error tracking in Sentry, catch breakage before users report it.
- Security as an afterthought. Dependency scanning, secrets management, least-privilege IAM and OWASP-style reviews happen during the build. Our engineers have experience working within SOC 2, HIPAA and PCI controls.
- Knowledge locked in one head. Architecture decision records, runbooks and pairing with your engineers mean the system survives any one person leaving, including ours.
Team shapes and cost
Typical Ryz cost is $7,000–$15,000 per engineer per month, mostly mid-level to senior. Mid-level engineers (comparable to Amazon L5) run $7,000–$10,000, senior engineers (comparable to Amazon L6) $10,000–$15,000, and leads $15,000+ per month, quoted per team.
- Focused squad: 3 senior engineers. 3 × $10,000–$15,000 = $30,000–$45,000 per month. Good for one well-defined feature area or service.
- Product team: a tech lead plus 4 engineers (front end, back end, mobile or QA as needed). At mid-level to senior rates, 4 × $7,000–$15,000 = $28,000–$60,000, plus the lead at $15,000+, so roughly $43,000–$75,000+ per month.
- Platform team: a tech lead, 5 senior engineers and a DevOps engineer. 6 × $10,000–$15,000 = $60,000–$90,000, plus the lead, so $75,000+ per month.
A project's total cost is team size × duration × monthly rate. Before you start, you get a scoped plan, a price and the names of the people who would do the work.
Dedicated team or staff augmentation?
Pick a dedicated development team when you want a group that owns an outcome: a new product, a rebuild or a platform migration, with its own tech lead accountable for delivery. If you would rather hand off a fully scoped system, see software outsourcing.
Pick staff augmentation when your architecture and leadership are in place and you need more senior hands. Individual software engineers work on your team, take tickets from your backlog and follow your process. Many clients start with two or three engineers and later add a full team.
When Ryz isn't the right fit
If you want a self-serve freelance marketplace, hourly short gigs, or a trial before talking to anyone, a marketplace like Upwork or Toptal suits you better. If you need engineers on European or Asian hours or follow-the-sun coverage, a global network will fit better. And if you need a management-consulting or board-level transformation program, that belongs with a large consultancy.

FAQ
What does a software development company like Ryz actually deliver?
Working software in production, plus the code, tests, infrastructure definitions and documentation behind it, all in your repositories and cloud accounts. You own everything the team writes from the first commit.
How much do your software development services cost?
Typical cost is $7,000–$15,000 per engineer per month, mostly mid-level to senior, with leads at $15,000+ quoted per team. A four-person team of senior engineers is 4 × $10,000–$15,000 = $40,000–$60,000 per month. You get a plan, a price and names before you start.
How quickly can a team start?
After the scoping call we propose a team with named engineers. Most of the timeline depends on scope and your onboarding: access to repos, cloud accounts and environments is usually what sets the pace.
Do you work on fixed-price projects?
We scope and price per team per month, which keeps the team focused on the outcome instead of change orders. For the trade-offs, see fixed price vs time and materials.
What time zones do your engineers work?
Our engineers are in Latin America and work on US business hours, including New York hours, so you get real-time overlap with US teams and same-day code review.
