Heads up: we're Ryz Labs, so we have skin in this game. What follows is the advice we give buyers on calls, including the times we tell them to go with someone else.
Choose Crossover if you want full-time remote contractors from anywhere in the world, picked mainly through standardized aptitude tests, at published pay that's the same in every country, and you're comfortable with activity-tracked hourly billing. Choose Ryz Labs if you want senior Latin American engineers working inside your team on US hours, or an AI pod team that builds AI systems inside your stack. We're trusted by Fortune 500 engineering teams, and only the top 1% make it through our vetting.
Pay transparency. Crossover publishes pay on every listing and sets it the same in every country, based on what it calls "global value, not the local market". Its formula is simple: a $100,000 role is $50 an hour for 40 hours a week, 50 weeks a year. Software engineer roles go up to $200,000 a year, and engineering leadership up to $400,000. If you want candidates to see the pay before they apply, that's clear.
Standardized, repeatable screening. Every applicant takes the same timed aptitude test, does a blind-graded work assignment, and retakes the test under live proctoring to confirm the score. If you hire many people into the same role and want an apples-to-apples funnel, Crossover's process is built for that.
A global pool. With a network in 130+ countries, Crossover can fill roles that work from any time zone, including support, sales and finance roles as well as engineering. Our engineers are in Latin America.
Payroll and time tracking built in. Crossover holds the contract, bills you for approved hours, and pays contractors weekly. Its WorkSmart tool compiles timesheets and invoices automatically.
US hours, by default. Our engineers work within about an hour of US time zones, so they're in your standups and code reviews live. Crossover runs its work week on UTC and sets hours per role, so overlap with New York is something you negotiate.
Engineers who choose your team. Crossover's FAQ says most clients use WorkSmart, which records 10-minute timecards that can include screenshots and webcam photos. Some engineers won't work that way. Our engineers join your standups, your repos and your roadmap from week one, as part of your team.
People-led vetting, not just a test score. Recruiters source, our in-house ARC system ranks the pipeline, and every candidate goes through a structured NTRVSTA AI interview, with recruiters reviewing before and after. AI scores are advisory; people make the decisions. Only the top 1% make it, and you run the final interview from a recruiter-curated shortlist. See our vetting process.
A partner for outside clients, plus AI pod teams. Most employers named on Crossover's site are Trilogy-linked companies or a US school network it recruits for. We work with US enterprises across industries, including financial services, and we're trusted by Fortune 500 engineering teams. We also run AI pod teams that build AI systems inside your cloud. Our case studies include fraud detection that scored 244K+ invoices in under 30 seconds each.
Crossover doesn't publish client fees. It says Prime is free until you find a candidate you want to hire, with service fees applied to hired contractors after that. What it does publish is contractor pay: every listing shows an annual and hourly figure, the same in every country. Crossover bills clients for approved hours tracked through WorkSmart.
Our pricing is a custom quote, scoped per team. You sign one contract with Ryz. Our engineers work with us as independent contractors, and we handle paying them. You get a scoped plan, a price, and the names of the people who'd do the work.

Crossover calls Trilogy, part of the ESW Capital group, its largest client, and its homepage currently focuses on recruiting for a US school network. Outside companies can hire through Crossover Prime.
An AI screening interview, a 15-minute cognitive aptitude test with a target score per role, a blind-graded assignment, a hiring-manager interview, and a proctored retake of the aptitude test.
Trustpilot showed 1.4/5 from 105 reviews when we checked, mostly from applicants describing the testing process rather than clients. Clutch had no reviews. Ask any vendor for client references.
No. Our engineers are in Latin America and work within about an hour of US time zones. If you need people in Europe, Asia or Africa, a global pool like Crossover's fits better. If New York hours matter, talk to us.
