Hiring developers in Brazil through Ryz gets you senior engineers from Latin America's largest tech market, vetted so that only the top 1% of those we interview reach you. They embed in your team, work in your codebase and keep hours that overlap with the US working day, while we handle contracts and payments.
Brazil has the biggest developer community in Latin America and a domestic tech scene that builds at real scale: large consumer apps, payments, marketplaces and logistics platforms serving a very large domestic market. Engineers who come up in that environment are used to high traffic, complex tax and payment rules and fast release cycles.
Time zone. Most of Brazil's tech workforce, including São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Florianópolis and Recife, is on Brasília time, UTC-3. Brazil stopped observing daylight saving time in 2019. That makes these cities one hour ahead of New York while the US is on daylight time and two hours ahead during US standard time. Brazil spans several time zones, so a developer in Manaus, for example, runs one hour behind Brasília.
Tech hubs. São Paulo is the largest center for startups, fintech and enterprise engineering. Campinas, close by, has a strong research tradition. Florianópolis has a dense software cluster for its size. Recife is home to Porto Digital, a well-known technology park. Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Curitiba and Rio de Janeiro all have active engineering communities too.
Universities. Many senior engineers studied at the Universidade de São Paulo (USP), the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp), the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA), the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE) or the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS).
Common strengths. Brazil has deep benches in Java and Kotlin, Node.js and TypeScript, Python, Go and Elixir, plus mobile and data engineering. The Elixir community is notably active, since the language's creator is Brazilian. Payments and fintech experience is common.
English. Portuguese is the national language, so English varies more widely than in some neighboring countries. Senior engineers who work with US teams use English daily, and we test spoken and written English during vetting so every shortlisted candidate can run a design review in it.
Our recruiters source engineers with production experience and check what they owned, not just what they listed. Our in-house ARC system ranks the pipeline, and candidates complete structured NTRVSTA AI interviews built around your role. Recruiters review every candidate before and after that interview and send you a curated shortlist. AI scores are advisory. People make the decisions.
You sign one contract with Ryz. Our engineers work with us as independent contractors, and we handle paying them. There is no Brazilian entity to set up and no local payroll to run on your side.
We place engineers across Latin America. If the strongest candidate for your role is in Argentina, Uruguay or another neighboring country, we will tell you, and you decide.
Ryz is not the right fit if you want published, self-serve pricing before a conversation, or if you want to be the legal employer of your Brazilian engineers. For that, use an employer-of-record partner.
Most Brazilian tech hubs are on UTC-3, one or two hours ahead of New York depending on the season. That leaves most of the US Eastern working day shared, and a smaller but workable overlap with the West Coast.
The engineers we shortlist do. We test spoken and written English during vetting, because they need to explain trade-offs in reviews and planning, not just read documentation.
Custom quote, scoped per team. You see a plan, a price and the names of the people who would do the work before you sign anything.

Yes. Many teams combine engineers from Brazil, Argentina and other Latin American countries. Everyone keeps US-overlapping hours.
