Definition: AI readiness is a measure of how prepared an organization is to build, deploy and operate AI systems, based on the state of its data, infrastructure, engineering skills, governance and leadership support.
Most assessments look at five areas. Data: is the needed data accessible, clean and permitted for use? Infrastructure: can the cloud, security and CI/CD setup support AI workloads? People: are there engineers who can build and run the system? Governance: are there rules for risk and approval? Use cases: is there a clear problem with a measurable outcome?
Many AI pilots stall not because the model fails but because data access, security review or ownership was never settled. Assessing readiness first shows which gaps to close before or alongside a build.
Teams score each area, pick one or two use cases that fit current readiness, and run an AI proof of concept while fixing the gaps it exposes, such as a missing data pipeline.
Ryz AI pod teams can scope a first use case and close data and infrastructure gaps, working on your team.
