Definition: An AI proof of concept (PoC) is a short, scoped project that tests whether an AI approach can solve a specific business problem with real data, against success criteria agreed before the work starts.
A team picks one use case, gathers a representative sample of real data, builds the simplest version that could work and measures it against agreed criteria such as accuracy, time saved, cost per task or user acceptance. The output is evidence and a go or no-go decision, not a finished system.
A PoC proves feasibility, often outside production systems. A pilot puts a working version in front of real users in a limited setting. Production adds security review, monitoring, guardrails, support and scale. Planning the path to production during the PoC avoids rebuilding later.
Common causes are vague success criteria, demo data that does not match real data, no owner for the next phase and no plan for integration or governance.
Ryz AI pod teams build PoCs in your cloud with production in mind, so the same team can carry a successful result forward, working on your team.
