Definition: CI/CD stands for continuous integration and continuous delivery or deployment: automated practices that build and test every code change, then release it to production through a repeatable, low-risk pipeline.
Continuous integration means developers merge focused changes often, and each merge triggers an automated build and test run. Continuous delivery keeps the code always releasable, with deployment a button press away. Continuous deployment goes further and releases every change that passes the pipeline automatically. Tools include GitHub Actions, GitLab CI and Jenkins.
Automated pipelines catch defects early, shorten the time from idea to production and make releases routine rather than risky events. They also create an audit trail of what changed and when.
AI applications add steps: running evaluation suites when prompts or models change, validating data, and gating releases on quality scores. This is a core part of LLMOps and MLOps.
Ryz DevOps engineers build CI/CD pipelines in your GitHub, AWS or Azure accounts, working on your team.
