Ryz Labs offers AI consulting that ends in production software: a senior AI pod works with your team to scope a use case (the data, the risks, the success metric and the build plan), tests it on your real data, and then the same engineers build and ship it. We are engineers, not a strategy firm. Our people are the top 1% of the tens of thousands we have interviewed, and they work on US business hours.
Most AI consulting engagements end with a recommendation. Ours end with working artifacts your engineers can run, read and keep:
A common pattern: a strategy engagement produces a roadmap, a separate vendor builds a pilot, and a third team is asked to put it into production. Context is lost at each handoff, and the pilot was never tested on the inputs production will see. When the people who scope the work also have to build it, the plan has to survive contact with your data, your security review and your actual volume.
That does not make strategy work useless. If you need an enterprise-wide AI operating model or board-level change management, that is a different job. If you need to know whether a specific workflow can be automated, what it will cost and how to ship it, builders answer that faster. Our guide to alternatives to big consultancies for building AI covers the trade-offs, and partners to take an AI pilot to production covers the step after a pilot.
In week 1, the pod interviews the people who do the work today, maps the workflow and pulls sample data. By month 1, there is typically an eval set, a prototype scored against it and a written go or no-go recommendation with the cost model. By month 3, if you chose to proceed, the same engineers are hardening the system for a first production rollout. Scope and access drive the real timeline.
Consulting advice fails when it is never tested. These are the traps we design the scoping phase around:
The same approach scoped and built a marketing compliance review system for a global capital management firm, which processes 8,000+ documents and cut review turnaround from days to hours. See the case studies.
Ryz engineers typically cost $7,000 to $15,000 per engineer per month: mid-level (comparable to Amazon L5) $7,000 to $10,000, senior (comparable to Amazon L6) $10,000 to $15,000, leads $15,000+. Typical shapes:
Cost is team size × duration × monthly rate, so a scoping pod for six weeks is roughly 1.5 × $25,000 to $30,000+. You get a scoped plan, a price and the names of the people before anything starts.
For consulting that leads to a build, a dedicated AI pod team fits best: one group owns the recommendation and the delivery. See how forward-deployed engineers work with your staff. If you already have an AI lead who has made the decisions and you need execution capacity, staff augmentation is simpler: hire AI engineers or a solutions architect who works on your team and reports to your leads.
A board-level AI transformation program, an enterprise operating model or organization-wide change management belongs with a large consultancy. If you want a proprietary AI platform to license, talk to platform vendors. If you need advisors in European or Asian time zones, a global network fits better.
Ryz provides AI consulting as the first phase of building. A senior pod scopes the use case, tests it on your data and writes the plan, then the same engineers build and ship it. We do not run strategy-only engagements that end in a report.
An evaluation set, a prototype in your repo scored against it, an architecture decision, a risk register, a running-cost model and a build plan with team and price. If the use case does not hold up, you also get a clear recommendation to stop.
Ryz engineers typically cost $7,000 to $15,000 per engineer per month, with leads from $15,000. A two-person scoping pod is about $25,000 to $30,000+ per month, and total cost is team size × duration × monthly rate.
After the first call we propose a pod with names. Most of the timeline depends on scope and on how quickly your team can share sample data and grant access.
No. The eval set, prototype and plan are yours, and your own engineers or another partner can build from them.
