Software development and AI pod teams for travel and hospitality
Senior engineering teams that build booking, distribution, PMS and loyalty systems, and AI pods that ship reservations agents, pricing and guest-service tools.
By the Ryz Labs team · Updated October 2026
Ryz staffs senior Latin American engineering teams for hotel groups, airlines, online travel companies, tour operators and travel management companies: booking engines, GDS and NDC connectivity, PMS and channel integrations, and loyalty platforms. Our AI pod teams build reservations agents, trip-change assistants and pricing models in your cloud and ship them to production. Teams work on US business hours, so they overlap with your revenue managers, contact centers and operations desks.
Travel software is a web of distribution partners and inventory that changes by the second: a room or seat can sell through a brand site, two OTAs and a GDS at once. Trusted by Fortune 500 engineering teams, Ryz brings engineers from the top 1% of the tens of thousands we interview, and they work on your team, in your repos and incident rotations.
What we build for travel and hospitality teams
- Booking engines and shopping. Search, availability and pricing for rooms, fares and packages, with caching strategies that keep look-to-book ratios affordable and rates accurate.
- Airline distribution. IATA NDC offer and order APIs, GDS connectivity through Amadeus, Sabre and Travelport, ancillaries and seat maps, and early work toward ONE Order.
- Hotel PMS and CRS integrations. Oracle OPERA Cloud, Mews, Cloudbeds and Infor HMS on the property side, and Sabre SynXis or other central reservation systems, using HTNG and OpenTravel Alliance message standards.
- Channel management. Rate and availability distribution to Booking.com, Expedia and others through SiteMinder, DerbySoft or direct connections, with rate parity checks and overbooking protection.
- Loyalty platforms. Points accrual and redemption engines, partner earn programs, tier logic and member apps, plus fraud controls on point transfers.
- Guest and traveler apps. Mobile check-in, digital keys with ASSA ABLOY or dormakaba systems, trip itineraries, disruption notifications and in-app chat.
- Corporate travel tools. Policy engines, approval flows, duty-of-care tracking and expense integrations with SAP Concur and Navan.
- Revenue and operations data. Feeds to revenue management systems such as IDeaS and Duetto, labor and housekeeping planning, and food and beverage POS data from Oracle Simphony or similar systems.
Where AI pods help in travel and hospitality
Travel AI has to be right about prices, policies and availability at the moment it answers. Our AI pod teams ground every answer in live systems and build handoffs for anything with money attached.
- Reservations and contact-center agents. Voice and chat agents that book, change and cancel within fare and rate rules, answer policy questions and hand complex cases to agents with full context. Our pods have shipped an AI voice platform with more than 1M outbound calls and an AI driver-support agent that works in three languages, covering roughly 218,000 calls a year; see the case studies.
- Disruption and rebooking assistants. When a flight cancels or a storm closes a resort, agents that offer rebooking options from real inventory, process refunds the rules require and update loyalty status. Volume spikes are the design case, not the edge case.
- Pricing and demand forecasting. Demand models from booking pace, events, competitor rates and search data that feed revenue managers and pricing systems, with clear overrides.
- Content and property data quality. LLM pipelines that normalize amenity data, write room descriptions from structured facts and catch mismatches across channels, with review before publishing.
- Booking and loyalty fraud detection. Scoring for stolen-card bookings, account takeover and points fraud. One of our pods built fraud detection for a global fleet company that has confirmed $5.94M in fraud, validated by the client's fraud team; the same scoring and review pattern applies.
Regulations and constraints our engineers work within
- PCI DSS. Card storage for guarantees and no-shows, virtual cards from OTAs and tokenization across PMS and payment gateways put many hotel systems in scope.
- DOT consumer rules. Full fare advertising requirements, the 24-hour hold or cancel rule, and DOT's 2024 rule on automatic refunds for cancelled or significantly changed flights.
- FTC fee disclosure rule. The FTC's Rule on Unfair or Deceptive Fees requires total price display, including mandatory fees, for short-term lodging, which changes how booking flows present resort and destination fees.
- Accessibility. The ADA reservations rule for hotels (28 CFR 36.302(e)), Air Carrier Access Act website and kiosk requirements for airlines, and WCAG 2.1 AA.
- Privacy and passenger data. GDPR for European travelers, CCPA/CPRA and state privacy laws, TSA Secure Flight data requirements and API/PNR data rules for international flights.
- Package travel rules. The EU Package Travel Directive for operators selling bundled trips to European customers.
Our engineers have experience working within these requirements under your controls. Ryz does not claim PCI DSS or other certifications for its teams.
Integrations and data
- Distribution: Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport, IATA NDC, Booking.com and Expedia partner APIs, and channel managers.
- Property systems: OPERA Cloud, Mews, Cloudbeds, SynXis, Agilysys and door lock platforms.
- Payments: Adyen, Stripe, Shift4 and Worldpay, virtual card processing and 3-D Secure.
- Customer and loyalty: Salesforce, Braze, Amperity and loyalty engines.
- Data: booking, search and stay data in Snowflake or Databricks, modeled by our data engineering teams.
How teams engage Ryz
- Staff augmentation. Add senior backend, mobile or data engineers to your team for an NDC rollout or a PMS migration. See hire back-end developers.
- Dedicated development team. A Ryz team owns a scoped system, such as a booking engine rebuild, a channel integration layer or a loyalty platform.
- AI pod. A pod of senior engineers, including a tech lead and an ML engineer, builds a reservations agent or pricing models in your cloud and runs them to production.
The steps are Talk, Match, Join and Grow. Typical cost is $7,000–$15,000 per engineer per month: mid-level $7,000–$10,000, senior $10,000–$15,000, leads $15,000+. Four senior engineers at $12,000 a month for six months is $288,000. You get a plan, a price and the names of the people before you start.
When Ryz isn't the right fit
- You need 24x7 follow-the-sun engineering coverage from Europe or Asia time zones for global operations.
- You want a short hourly gig from a freelance marketplace, booked without a conversation.
- You want a strategy consultancy for a brand-wide transformation, or a packaged travel AI platform rather than a team that builds in your stack.

FAQ
Do your engineers work with NDC and the GDSs?
Yes. Our engineers build IATA NDC offer and order integrations and GDS connectivity through Amadeus, Sabre and Travelport, including servicing flows such as changes, refunds and ancillaries, which are usually harder than shopping.
How do your engineers handle card and traveler data?
They work in your environment, under your access controls, logging and tokenization setup, and traveler data stays in your accounts. Ryz does not claim PCI DSS certification; our engineers have experience working within PCI DSS, GDPR and DOT requirements as your compliance team applies them.
Can an AI agent change bookings safely?
Within defined rules, yes. Our pods give agents only the actions your fare and rate rules allow, require confirmation before charges or refunds, and hand anything unusual to a person with the full conversation attached.
What does a travel software team cost?
Typical rates are $7,000–$15,000 per engineer per month by seniority. Cost is team size times months times rate; three senior engineers at $12,000 for five months is $180,000.
Can your teams support us through peak travel seasons?
Yes. Our teams work on US business hours, including New York hours, and plan load tests, code freezes and on-call coverage with you ahead of summer and holiday peaks.
