Ryz places senior technical program managers on your team for $7,000 to $15,000 per person per month, and you meet named candidates before you sign. Our TPMs coordinate work that spans several engineering teams, such as platform migrations, AI program rollouts and release governance, on US business hours.
A project manager keeps one body of work on schedule. A technical program manager owns the outcome of work that crosses team boundaries, where no single team lead can see the whole dependency graph. TPMs read design docs, challenge sequencing, and know why the payments team cannot cut over until the identity service ships its new token format. They are judged on whether the program lands, not on whether the meetings happened.
Once a company has more than one AI initiative, the hard problems are rarely in a single model. Each team picks its own vector store, its own prompts and its own idea of good enough. A TPM sets the shared rails: a common evaluation checklist, an intake process for new use cases, a review path with security and legal, and a dashboard of what is live, what it costs and who owns it. When an AI pod team is building the systems, the TPM is the person who keeps pods, platform teams and business owners moving on one plan.
We look for TPMs who have landed programs with three or more teams and can describe a program that went badly and what they changed. Recruiters source the pipeline, ARC (our in-house system) ranks it, and candidates take structured NTRVSTA AI interviews built around migration and cross-team scenarios. Recruiters review candidates before and after, and you get a curated shortlist. AI scores are advisory. Humans decide.
The TPM works on your team, reporting to your engineering leadership, usually a VP or director of engineering. Team leads keep ownership of their designs and estimates. The TPM owns the integrated plan, the risk log and the program review. Talk covers the program, the teams involved and where it is stuck. Match gives you a price, a written scope and named TPMs who have run similar programs. At Join they get access to your Jira, Confluence, Slack and design reviews. At Grow, clients often add engineers, QA or a dedicated team for the migration itself. If a TPM is not the right fit, we replace them free.
Some clients hire a TPM for a single migration and keep them on for the next one. Others want a TPM for hire who can run a portfolio of programs for a platform group. Either way, our technical program managers are remote, work US business hours, and join your existing planning cycle rather than inventing a new one.
Ryz is not the right fit for a board-level transformation program run by a management consultancy, or for follow-the-sun coverage in European and Asian time zones.
Program management is a live coordination job. Our TPMs are online during US working hours, so a blocked dependency gets raised in the morning standup and resolved the same afternoon. Many have run delivery for US companies with teams spread across several countries, and they write program updates in clear English.
$7,000 to $15,000 per person per month, the same band as our engineers, based on seniority. You see a plan, a price and the names of the TPMs we propose before you sign.
Not quite. A technical project manager usually runs one team's delivery. A technical program manager coordinates several teams toward one outcome. If you need the first, see project managers. For roadmap ownership, see product managers.
Yes. Migrations are among the most common programs our TPMs run: wave plans, cutover rehearsals, rollback criteria and decommissioning, with your platform and service teams doing the engineering.
US business hours, including New York hours, so they can run program reviews and unblock teams in real time.
Your engineering leadership. Ryz TPMs work on your team, reporting to your leads, in your tools and planning cycle.
