Talent cost savings calculator: US vs Latin America (2026)

Pick a role, seniority, team size and timeline to compare US fully loaded cost, Latin America market pay and Ryz Labs pricing, with every source shown.

This calculator compares three numbers for 20 engineering and product roles: what a US in-house hire costs an employer once benefits are added, what engineers in Latin America are paid, and what Ryz Labs typically charges: $7,000 to $15,000 per engineer per month for mid-level to senior engineers. Market figures come from public sources, listed below with their year. Ryz quotes are scoped per team.

How these numbers are built

Ryz pricing shown is the typical range for mid-level to senior engineers; your quote is scoped per team. US and Latin America figures are market estimates from public sources. US figures are what an employer pays for a direct hire, including benefits. Latin America figures are what engineers are paid; any hiring model (freelance, vendor or direct hire) adds costs on top. Amazon L5/L6 figures are total compensation reported on Levels.fyi, shown as a seniority reference. Recruiting time, management and equipment are not included.

    How to read the results

The first card shows a US fully loaded cost range for the team and timeline you chose. It starts from US Bureau of Labor Statistics wage percentiles for the closest occupation and adds benefits. The second card shows a Latin America market pay range: what engineers in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia and Chile earn at that level. The third shows the Ryz Labs range, monthly and in total, plus the estimated saving against the US figure (low end: US low vs Ryz high; high end: the reverse).

A big-tech equivalent line gives a seniority reference: mid-level matches Amazon L5 (SDE II), senior matches L6 (Senior SDE). On Levels.fyi (checked October 2, 2026), L5 runs $253K to $364K and L6 $350K to $523K+, from the 25th percentile to the highest reported package. The top reported L6 package tops $500K in total compensation (base, stock and bonus).

The US card is a cost to the employer. The Latin America card is pay to the engineer; any hiring model adds costs on top. The Ryz card is our monthly price per engineer, which includes vetting.

Seniority is approximated with pay percentiles, not job titles. Junior uses the 10th to 25th percentile of US wages, mid-level the 25th to 50th, senior the 50th to 75th, and lead or staff the 75th to 90th. On the Latin America side, junior uses entry-level data, mid-level uses all-level medians, senior uses senior medians, and lead uses the senior 75th percentile. The Ryz card uses the range for the level you pick; junior shows no Ryz price. Treat every range as directional, not a quote.

What's included in fully loaded cost

A salary is not what an employee costs. The BLS Employer Costs for Employee Compensation release for June 2026 shows that, for private-industry management, professional and related workers, wages were 68.5% of total compensation. Benefits were the other 31.5%: $24.82 an hour on top of $54.06 in wages. Benefits include paid leave, insurance, retirement contributions and legally required employer taxes.

The calculator divides the BLS wage figure by 68.5% to get a fully loaded estimate. It does not add costs that public data does not price well:

    • Recruiting: sourcing, interview hours and agency fees.
    • Time to fill: the weeks a seat sits empty while work waits.
    • Onboarding, equipment and management time, which every hire needs.

Include those and the real US figure is higher.

Where the Latin America numbers come from

We use two public sources and show both in the calculator's notes. Get on Board, a Latin American tech job board, publishes the average monthly salary offered in job posts and the average salary hired candidates expected, by role family and seniority, in US dollars after tax. We multiply by 12. Being net of tax, they read lower than gross pay. Levels.fyi publishes self-reported annual total pay in US dollars by country and level. Engineering roles use software engineer data; product managers use product manager data.

The Latin America range runs from the lowest to the highest of those figures for the role and level you chose. Each role page lists the country figures.

    How Ryz pricing works

Ryz typically charges $7,000 to $15,000 per engineer per month, mostly for mid-level to senior people: $7,000 to $10,000 for mid-level (comparable to Amazon L5) and $10,000 to $15,000 for senior (comparable to L6). Lead engineers start at $15,000 a month, quoted per team; for junior roles, ask us for a quote. Before you sign anything, you get a scoped plan, a price, and the names of the people who would do the work. Ryz engineers work on your team, reporting to your leads. Rates by role

Each page shows the full table of sources for one role: Python, JavaScript, React, Java, Node.js, TypeScript, full-stack, Go, .NET, iOS, Android, data engineers, data scientists, machine learning engineers, AI engineers, DevOps, AWS, QA automation, Salesforce and product managers.
