Ryz Labs/Hire/Cloud & DevOpsHire senior AWS developers who build and run on your account
Senior AWS engineers who design, build and operate serverless and container workloads in your accounts, vetted by Ryz and aligned to US time zones.
By the Ryz Labs team · Updated October 2026
Hiring AWS developers through Ryz gets you senior engineers who build applications and infrastructure on AWS with security, cost and operations in mind from day one. Only the top 1% of candidates we interview make it through. They work inside your team, in your AWS accounts and repos, within ±1h of US time zones.
What our AWS developers work on
Our AWS engineers sit between application development and cloud infrastructure. They write the Lambda functions and the services, and they also define the IAM policies, networking and pipelines those services run on. Typical engagements look like this:
- Serverless applications: API Gateway, Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS and DynamoDB, built with AWS CDK, SAM or Terraform.
- Container workloads: ECS on Fargate or EKS, with Application Load Balancers, service discovery and blue-green deploys through CodeDeploy.
- Data pipelines: S3-based data lakes, Glue, Athena, Kinesis and Lake Formation permissions.
- Multi-account setup: AWS Organizations, Control Tower, IAM Identity Center and service control policies.
- Migrations: moving workloads from on-premises or other clouds, including database moves with DMS.
- AI workloads on AWS: Amazon Bedrock and SageMaker endpoints wired into existing applications with proper IAM and VPC controls.
Skills we vet for
- IAM: least-privilege policies, roles and trust relationships, permission boundaries, and debugging access-denied errors without granting wildcards.
- Networking: VPC design, subnets, NAT gateways, security groups, VPC endpoints and PrivateLink.
- Serverless patterns: Lambda concurrency, cold starts, idempotency, dead-letter queues and event-driven retries.
- Data stores: DynamoDB single-table design and capacity modes, RDS and Aurora, ElastiCache, and S3 lifecycle rules.
- Infrastructure as code: CDK in TypeScript or Python, CloudFormation, or Terraform, with reviewable diffs.
- Observability: CloudWatch metrics, logs and alarms, X-Ray or OpenTelemetry tracing.
- Cost awareness: right-sizing, Savings Plans, Graviton, data transfer costs and tagging for cost allocation.
- Security services: KMS, Secrets Manager, GuardDuty, Security Hub and CloudTrail.
How we vet AWS developers
Our recruiters source AWS engineers across Latin America, and our in-house ARC system ranks the pipeline. Candidates then complete structured NTRVSTA AI interviews that walk through architecture and failure scenarios on AWS. Recruiters review each person before and after the interview and assemble a curated shortlist. AI scores are advisory. Humans make the calls. Certifications are a plus, but we test what people can actually design and debug.
Sample interview topics
- A Lambda that processes SQS messages sometimes handles the same message twice and sometimes drops failures. How do you make it idempotent and handle partial batch failures?
- Design a DynamoDB table for orders that need lookup by customer, by status and by date. What keys and indexes do you choose, and what access patterns does that rule out?
- A service in a private subnet cannot reach S3 and the NAT bill is high. What do you check, and how do you fix both?
- Your team shares one AWS account for dev, staging and prod. How would you move to a multi-account setup without stopping delivery?
- An IAM role needs access to one S3 prefix and one KMS key. Write out the policy approach, and explain how the key policy and the role policy interact.
Ways to hire AWS developers
| Option | Best for | Trade-offs |
|---|
| Freelance marketplace | A narrow task, such as setting up a single pipeline or a proof of concept. | Granting account access to short-term contractors is a security question. Ownership after the task ends is unclear. |
| Staffing or recruiting agency | Filling a cloud role when you can run your own architecture interviews. | Certifications often stand in for real hands-on vetting. |
| In-house recruiting | A permanent cloud team that will own your AWS footprint long term. | Slow, competitive hiring for senior cloud talent. |
| Ryz Labs staff augmentation | Adding senior AWS engineers to your existing product or platform team. | Custom quote, scoped per team. You manage their priorities like any team member. |
| Ryz Labs AI pod team | Building AI systems on AWS, such as Bedrock-based agents or document pipelines, inside your accounts with a dedicated team. | A scoped, multi-person engagement. Not the right shape for a single infrastructure task. |
Ryz is not built for short hourly gigs or for a management-consulting style cloud strategy program. If that is what you need, a freelance platform or a large consultancy will serve you better.
Why hire AWS developers from Latin America
Most US companies run their primary AWS regions in us-east-1 or us-west-2, and their change windows, incident calls and architecture reviews happen during US hours. Engineers in Latin America share those hours, so a failed CloudFormation stack or a throttled DynamoDB table gets looked at by someone awake and online.
The region has a deep base of cloud engineers who built on AWS for regional fintechs, marketplaces and media companies operating at large scale. The senior engineers we place are comfortable explaining trade-offs in English, writing architecture decision records and defending a design in review.

FAQ
Do your AWS developers write application code or only infrastructure?
Both. We place engineers who write Lambda functions and services in Python, TypeScript, Java or Go, and who also own the CDK or Terraform that deploys them. If you only need infrastructure, we can match a more operations-focused engineer.
Are your AWS engineers certified?
Many hold AWS certifications, but we do not treat a certificate as proof of skill. Our interviews test design and debugging on realistic scenarios.
How much does it cost?
It is a custom quote, scoped per team. Before you sign, you see a plan, a price and the names of the engineers.
Who holds the contract, and what hours do they work?
You sign one contract with Ryz. Our engineers work with us as independent contractors, and we handle paying them. They work within ±1h of US time zones.
How do you handle access to our AWS accounts?
Our engineers work inside your environment under your controls: your SSO, your IAM roles and your audit trail. You decide what they can reach, and you can revoke access at any time.
